NL201 driver on Windows 10

capmon Jun 5, 2019 01:37 PM

I installed the driver for the NL200 Series through the Device Configuration Utility (DCU), but everytime I connect any NL201 units into the computer, there is always a Windows notification that the device is unrecognized.  If I install the driver again through DCU, it will say that the driver is already installed.

I have tried restarting the computer; shutting down the computer and waiting before turning it on again; unplugging the NL201 waiting before plugging it back it; Tried different USB-mircroUSB cables; different NL201 adapters;  Nothing changes the situation.   I have also tried another Windows 10 computer and ended getting a BSOD (blue screen of death).

I am running the DCU that comes with LoggerNet 4.5.0.1.

Is this NL200 Series driver intended to be used with Windows 10?

Hi,

is the Device Configuration Utility last version?

You talk about NL200 which is no longer in production, maybe there are updates! ...... I believe, unfortunately I can't verify, I don't have those devices at hand.

In the DCU they lumped both the NL201 and NL200 as the "NL200 Series".  Yes, I am using the latest firmware available.  I am not using an NL200 (we don't have those).  We only have NL201 units.

The NL200 Series driver is compatible with Windows 10, but it requires some additional steps to install and configure correctly. Some possible solutions that you can try are:

Make sure that you have the latest version of the Device Configuration Utility (tunnel rush) and the NL200 Series driver.

Run the DCU as an administrator and follow the instructions to install the driver. Do not connect the NL201 to your computer until the driver installation is complete.

After the driver installation is complete, connect the NL201 to your computer using a USB-microUSB cable. You should see a green LED on the NL201 indicating that it is powered on. If you see a red LED, it means that there is a communication error.

Open the DCU and select the NL200 Series from the list of devices. You should see the NL201's serial number and IP address. If you do not see them, you might need to refresh the device list or check your network settings.

Configure the NL201's network settings according to your network requirements. You can use the DCU to change the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server of the NL201. You can also enable or disable the DHCP mode of the NL201.

Test the communication between the NL201 and your data logger or other serial device. You can use the DCU to send and receive commands and data to and from the NL201. You can also use the LoggerNet software to connect to the data logger via the NL201.

The purpose of your test would dictate that. An LED could be attached and turned on and off to serve as a check. As an alternative, you may try testing by connecting C2/C2 to a different set of C ports and then sending and receiving data through those ports. geometry dash
