Improving radio communication

Otemohu Feb 8, 2020 08:51 AM

Hi all,

I just received two RF422 radio receiver/tranceiver from Campbell Sci. I bought two directionnal Yagi Antennas.
I have to connect both dataloggers spaced 1.3 kms appart: one at the top of a tower, 6 meters above a forest canopy and the other, 2m abobe the ground in a law. There is no direct view between the two station because forest trees are tall and the limit of the forest "hides" the transmission.

I succeed in configuring the two stations so I can communicate betweem them but when I want to retrieve files from CRD of the law station, I don't succeed. Maybe is it due to the non exact orientation of the antennas. So I would like to know is there is a way (signal force ?) to find out the best orientation possible?

Advice are welcome,

Best,
