fixed 12V terminal turn off

smile Dec 5, 2025 08:15 AM

Hello everyone,

I'd like to remotely reset an SDI12 probe connected to the fixed 12V terminal.

Do you know of a way to temporarily turn off this terminal?

I've already tried uploading a program to compile, but it didn't work.

Do you have any experience with an OS update or any other suggestions?

Many tanks

Best regards

Smile

The constant 12V terminal is wired to have 12V as long as the data logger is supplied 12V. You need to use a SW12 channel to have program control. If you are out of SW12V channels, connect a relay to a C channel. Look at part 7321 for a solid state relay that Campbell Scientific carries. The 7321 is a 7 amp relay. Crydom makes other models as well for other current limits. Pay attention on the specification to the control voltage and control current. The C channel output 5VDC with a limited current (seen in logger specifications).
