  1. What do measurement and control peripherals do?

    Our measurement and control peripherals, including SDMs, multiplexers, and Terminal Input Modules (TIMs), expand the measurement and control capabilities of the datalogger.

  2. What does a multiplexer do?

    A multiplexer allows switched excitation channels and analog inputs to be shared. By using one channel to measure multiple sensors, the number of sensors that can be measured increases.

  3. What are CDMs, and what do they do?

    CDM refers to Campbell Distributed Module. A CDM expands the measurement capability of a datalogger by adding additional channels, controls, or measurement types. 

  4. What are SDMs, and what do they do?

    SDM refers to Synchronous Device for Measurement. SDMs expand digital control ports, analog output ports, and measurement capabilities. They are addressable devices, allowing more than one to be connected to a datalogger at the same time.

  5. How are CDMs (Campbell Distributed Modules) and SDMs (Synchronous Devices for Measurement) different?

    Compared to SDM devices, CDM devices can operate at much higher speeds and with cable lengths that are much longer.
