Überblick
Das SDM-SIO4A bietet zusätzliche serielle Eingänge für einen Datenlogger von Campbell Scientific, vier individuell konfigurierbare und adressierbare RS232, RS422 oder RS485 (Halb- oder Vollduplex)Ports zum Anschluss von intelligenten Sensoren, Dispalys uws. Der Logger muss SDM-fähig sein, dann können bis zu 3 Module an einem SDM-Port angeschlossen werden. Sie verhalten sich wie eingebaute serielle Ports und verwenden dieselben Programminstruktionen.
Das SDM-SIO4A ist am seriellen Eingang gegen Überspanung und Störsignale geschützt nach IEC61000-4-5 Level 4, so dass in den meisten Fällen kein zusätzlicher Überspannugnsschutz notwendig ist.
Hinweis: Das SDM-SIO4A ist kein direkter Ersatz für das SDM-SIO4. Das SDM-SIO4A besteht aus 4 SDM-SIO1A Modulen in einem Gerät. Daher ist das SDM-SIO4A ein Ersatz für bis zu 4 SDM-SIO1 Module oder als Alternative zum SDM-SIO1A, wenn 4 zusätzliche Kanäle gebraucht werden.

Technische Beschreibung
The SDM-SIO4A connects to multiple remote serial devices using industry-standard hardware that can be set to true RS-232, RS-485, or RS-422 signal levels. When operating in RS-232 mode, the channel also supports hardware handshaking. RS-422 mode is functionally the same as RS-485 mode, except the connection is limited to a point-to-point system. Connections and programming for RS-422 are otherwise identical to RS-485.
The SDM-SIO4A will accept serial data up to 6143 bytes and store it in its buffer. This allows remote equipment to transmit large amounts of data without needing to stop other processes in the datalogger.
Up to 3 SDM-SIO4A modules can be connected to a single datalogger using the SDM port, allowing a user to connect 12 different serial devices to a datalogger with ease. This is in addition to any connections made to the dataloggers via other serial ports.

Datalogger Considerations
The SDM-SIO4A does NOT support auto baud rate detection nor the use of the serial port for general PakBus communications.

None of our Edlog dataloggers are compatible with the SDM-SIO4A.
Enclosure Considerations
The SDM-SIO4A requires a desiccated, non-condensing environment; a Campbell Scientific enclosure is recommended. The SDM-SIO4A has built-in keyhole flanges for mounting to the backplates of Campbell Scientific enclosures.
